PacePlay

Terms of Service

Last updated: March 2026

Agreement

By accessing or using PacePlay (“the Service”), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. These terms apply to all users: tournament directors who create accounts, scorers who submit scores, and anyone who views or follows a player.

Who can use PacePlay

Directors (account holders)

You must be at least 18 years old and have the authority to enter player data on behalf of your golf organisation to create a director account. By creating an account you confirm you meet these requirements.

Score entry and public pages

Score submission and public leaderboard or follow pages do not require an account but are subject to these terms. Score entry is intended to be used by tournament participants and their caddies.

Follow / notification subscriptions

You must be at least 13 years old to subscribe to player notifications. By subscribing you confirm you meet this requirement.

Director responsibilities

As a director you are responsible for the accuracy and legality of data you enter into PacePlay.

  • Parental consent. Players in your tournaments are likely minors. You are responsible for ensuring you have the right — and where required by applicable law, verifiable parental consent — to enter their names and scores into PacePlay. US directors should be familiar with COPPA obligations where relevant.
  • Data accuracy. You are responsible for entering player names and divisions accurately and for correcting any errors.
  • Data deletion. You are responsible for deleting tournament data once it is no longer needed. PacePlay provides an event deletion tool that permanently removes all associated data.
  • AI analysis. The AI analysis feature sends tournament data — including player names and scores — to a third-party AI provider (Anthropic). By using AI analysis you acknowledge this and confirm you have appropriate authority to share that data.
  • Account security. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your login email. PacePlay uses passwordless magic links; do not forward login emails to others.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Enter false, misleading, or fabricated tournament or player data.
  • Use PacePlay to collect or process data for any purpose other than running a golf tournament.
  • Attempt to access, modify, or delete data belonging to another director or organisation.
  • Reverse-engineer, scrape, or automate requests to PacePlay in a way that disrupts the service.
  • Use PacePlay for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable law or regulation.

Beta service

PacePlay is currently in private beta. The Service is provided as-is during this period. Features may change, be removed, or be unavailable without notice. We do not guarantee uptime, data durability, or feature continuity during the beta period. We will make reasonable efforts to notify directors of significant changes.

Intellectual property

PacePlay and its content, design, and software are owned by or licensed to us. You retain ownership of the tournament and player data you enter. You grant us a limited licence to store and process that data to operate the Service on your behalf. We do not claim ownership of your data.

Disclaimers

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or uninterrupted availability. Pace calculations are estimates based on configured time pars and are not guaranteed to be accurate.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, PacePlay and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data or profits, arising from your use of or inability to use the Service. Our total liability for any claim arising from these terms or your use of the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or $100, whichever is greater.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the “last updated” date and, where reasonably practicable, notify active directors by email. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising from these terms or your use of PacePlay shall be resolved in the courts of the State of California.
