PacePlay
Last updated: March 2026
PacePlay is a pace-of-play management tool for junior golf tournaments. Tournament directors use it to set up events, track groups, and monitor pace in real time. Families and friends can follow individual players via shareable links.
Tournament directors (authenticated users)
We store your email address, used only for authentication via passwordless magic link. We do not store passwords.
Player data (entered by directors)
We store player first name, last name, division, and hole scores. Birthdays provided during import are used only to calculate a US Kids Golf division — they are never written to our database. We do not collect gender, location, or contact information for players.
Follow / notification subscribers
If you subscribe to receive updates about a specific player, we store your email address alongside that player's ID. You can unsubscribe by contacting us. This feature is intended for adults (parents, guardians, coaches) and is not for use by children under 13.
Waitlist
If you sign up for the waitlist on our landing page, we store your email address. We use it only to contact you about PacePlay availability.
Push notification subscriptions
If you enable browser push notifications, we store your browser's push subscription endpoint. This endpoint is used only to deliver pace alerts you have requested. No personal information is attached to the subscription.
Analytics
We use Vercel Analytics to collect aggregate, anonymised usage data (page views, general geography). No personally identifiable information is collected through analytics.
We use the following third-party services to operate PacePlay. Each receives only the minimum data necessary for its function.
Supabase
Database hosting and authentication. All event, player, score, and watcher data is stored in Supabase-managed PostgreSQL with row-level security.
Loops
Transactional email delivery. When a tournament round completes, we send notification emails to follow subscribers via Loops. Loops receives subscriber email addresses and basic event details (event name, player name) as needed to deliver those emails.
Anthropic
AI-powered post-tournament analysis (director-only feature). When a director requests an AI analysis, tournament data — including group numbers, division names, player names, scores, and pace timing — is sent to Anthropic's API. This data may include the names of minor players. Directors should be aware that activating AI analysis sends tournament data to a third-party AI provider. Anthropic's privacy policy governs how they handle API inputs.
Vercel
Application hosting and anonymous analytics.
Golf Genius (optional)
When a director imports a Golf Genius tournament, player rosters are fetched from the Golf Genius API. PacePlay stores only the name and division; birthdays are used temporarily for division assignment and then discarded.
All data is used solely to operate the tournament management service. We do not sell data, use it for advertising, or share it with any party other than the processors listed above. Email addresses collected for waitlist or notifications are used only for the stated purpose and are not shared.
PacePlay is a tool for junior golf tournaments and we take the protection of minors' data seriously.
Player data
Player information is entered by tournament directors, not collected directly from players or their parents. We retain only first name, last name, and division. Birthdays are never stored. Directors are responsible for ensuring they have appropriate authority and, where required, parental consent to enter player information into PacePlay.
Follow / notification feature
The player-following feature is intended for parents, guardians, and other adults. It is not directed at, and should not be used by, children under 13. By subscribing to player notifications, you represent that you are 13 years of age or older.
If we become aware of under-13 data
If we learn we have collected personal information from a child under 13 without verifiable parental consent, we will delete that information promptly. Contact us at privacy@paceplay.io to report a concern.
Tournament directors can delete any event at any time, which permanently removes all associated player and score data from our database. Follow subscriptions associated with players in that event are also removed. If you wish to delete your director account and all associated data, or to remove a watcher subscription, contact us at the address below.
All data is stored in Supabase with row-level security policies. Player and score data is accessible only to authenticated tournament directors. Public-facing pages expose only the information necessary to display pace status and scores. All data is transmitted over HTTPS.
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal data we hold about you. To make a request, email us at privacy@paceplay.io. We will respond within 30 days.
